The Real Treasure of Friendship

There’s a rarity of knowing who really has your back all the way in both the light and dark times of your life. Having real and genuine friends that treasure all of the good and bad experiences with you is worth noting. Those who choose to stick it out with you through the thick and thin are the real super friends that are worth keeping in your heart till the end of time.
When you have a friend that truly gets you and understands your pain and weaknesses, yet they still love you for who you are as a person is a true friend. An interesting insight that I had to reflect on is that you don’t have to try hard enough to keep someone around in your life. If someone wants to be in your life and respects the entirety of your being, they would never leave you because they love you just the way you are.
Be willing to open up about anything that is bothering you. A real friend wouldn’t go out of their way to ignore your feelings or make you feel bad about yourself because of the mistakes or flaws that have resulted in undesirable situations. Love, brotherly compassion, understanding, and forgiveness make the friendship grow even stronger.
Carrying the burdens of any negative feelings toward a friend can decimate a relationship if you allow yourself to fall victim to your irrational thoughts that want you to be alone and helpless. If you honestly have a specific problem with your friends, talk to them about your issues and be honest about whatever is bothering you. Honesty is always the key to developing integrity in your friendships. Let go of your pride and open yourself up for healing and growth that will strengthen your friendships.
Gratitude

Remember to be grateful each day for having a friend that truly cares about you. If you have one loving and loyal friend in the world that will always be there for you through heavenly and hellish days on earth, then you should consider yourself being a lottery winner of a lifetime. More importantly, be thankful always for having a true friend that will die alongside you in the frontlines of the battles of life. Thank them for everything they’ve done for you, and remember to be kind to them no matter what they go through in their own lives.
