Meeting Master Ryu in Shibuya!

The Path of the Turtle

Staring at the fortress of time, one could see that their life may have never amounted to much. Being a turtle can sometimes be disappointing because the road to mastering one’s craft and self takes ages to achieve. A turtle is competing with various species on the planet that have superior strength, speed, agility, intelligence, charms, talent, grit, and willpower. The turtle is faced with the reality that it will have to somehow manage to find its own path on this earth. A turtle may not be a lion at heart, but it is a creature of longevity, wisdom, and patience. The turtle is by no means a coward or quitter when it’s faced with thoughts of fear. The turtle knows that it must somehow harness its own fears and use those feelings to conquer the sea demons of lies and uncomfortableness.

The path of the turtle won’t make the Sunday headlines, yet it would certainly make a magnificent story in the eyes of the little creature. There’s nobody to impress and no time wasted boasting about one’s greatness. The turtle has one opponent that it’s up against, which is itself.

Devilish and evil is the opponent that has won almost every battle that life throws at the turtle. The turtle knows of only emotional pain from its own inner oppressor. The inner world of hell can’t simply be washed away by running away from its damming evil and lies. The turtle knows that it will be fighting this omnipresent being for life. The untouchable opponent may be quick as a thunderbolt and powerful, but the turtle knows that it was given the power of wisdom and a mighty heart to endure a long life of suffering.

The race to victory won’t be won by superhuman speed nor by the mighty power of Master Ryu’s Hadouken. No. The race will be won by defeating the shadow that holds a devastating grip on one’s soul and future. Time and patience will mold a turtle into a hero.
