To Be a Supervillain or Superhero?
I love both Supervillains and Superheroes from the Marvel and DC Universe. Supervillains like Doctor Doom, Magneto, Omega Red, Thanos, Galactus, Loki, Cyborg Superman, Darkseid, Deathstroke, Poison Ivy, General Zod, Doomsday, Ra’s al Ghul, etc.
For the superhero side, Spider-Man, Wolverine, Storm, Rogue, Captain America, Blade, The Punisher, The Incredible Hulk, Superman, The Flash, Green Lantern (Hal Jordan), Martian Manhunter, Catwoman, and Batman (Kevin Conroy version). I don’t want to bog you guys down with too many amazing characters, so let’s get back to the main topic of today’s post.

We live in a world where it’s common to treat others unfairly and not in an empathetic way. Too much of our selfishness and ego tends to get the best of us as human beings. We fail to help and recognize the needs of the homeless, we fail to forgive those we’ve hurt, we fail to do the right thing, we choose to make poor decisions, we fail to love others deeply, we fail our family and friends through various of reasons, and we fail to serve God and his people of this world.
Some people would rather become supervillains than to be superheroes. Superheroes are needed in this world who’ll remind people what it means to be an incredible human being who cares about others deeply. The idea may sound corny and all, but I’ve always believed for most of my life that superheroes can be an everyday average person.
What I’ve learned from superheroes through their stories and actions is that they represent:
- Hope
- Love for Others
- Self-Confidence
- Empathy
- Courage
- Strength
- Fearlessness
- Belief Driven
- Honor
- Givers
- Dignity
- Faithfulness
- Loyalty
- Heroism
- Kindness
- Compassion
- Healthy Masculinity and Femininity
- Justice
- Honesty
- Integrity
- Characters with Flaws
- Overcomers of Doubt
- Optimism
- Limitbreakers
- Goal Driven
- Mental Toughness
- Vulnerability
- Responsibility
- Forgivers
- Truth

These traits are something I am working on myself. I am unsure if I wrote a post about my childhood dream, but it’s mainly to be a superhero like Spider-Man and Superman. They taught me mostly about these wonderful qualities of how to be a better man. I still struggle with being a modern-day superhero because life can sometimes get the best of me. For me, it’s not a good enough excuse to fail at being a good man for the sake of those I love and cherish.
Whenever I look at those stupid videos on YouTube of people doing dumb things that affect us, I realize how important we need more people who can have these wonderful traits I listed above. The world is changing for the worse, and I believe things won’t get better until we learn how to be the best version of ourselves. We can either be a supervillain or a superhero.
