Aunt May
May Parker played by Rosemary Harris, defines the story of the Sam Raimi Spider-Man (2002-2007) films. She’s compassionate, wise, empathetic, tough, and wholesome. As you probably noticed from my previous posts, I’ve written related topics from the Sam Raimi trilogy. These aren’t just films for entertainment, they represent life lessons along with the beauty of storytelling. Aunt May is the savior of Peter’s journey and the hardships of being Spider-Man.
Courage, Strength, and Forgiveness

Spider-Man II and III moments of Aunt May often get me all teary-eyed. When she sees Peter struggling and going through a difficult phase in his life she encourages him to have the courage to be who he’s meant to be and have the strength to hold on and make the necessary sacrifices for the good. She also taught him to forgive himself and others, which some of us have difficulty accomplishing. I struggle with forgiving myself when I mess up while learning to forgive others to be free from unnecessary burdens.

Aunt May is a wise motherly figure I look up to when confronted with life’s challenges. I don’t know if anyone can relate to me on this, but most fictional characters I look up to are from films, television series, books, comics, and animation. There’s a lot of heart and soul to characters that inspire us to be good people. They also teach us to follow our dreams and live happier lives through the wisdom and lessons we learn from them.
Final Words
As we embark on this new year, allow yourself to be humbled by wise individuals who will elevate you to greatness. God bless and take care.
